The NUP 2X35 Campaign, which has been coordinated by DTC PAF for a year, is entering new phases. After analysing the security environment and assessing the operational environment, the next phase is devoted to the development of conceptual assumptions for the use of troops. For this purpose, the theory of wargaming was also mentioned in the context of the use of war games to support decision-making processes and staff exercises.
Participants of the seminar learnt the origins and assumptions of the theory of war games as well as simulations and their analyses in support of decision-making processes. The ways of forecasting international security by the Russian Federation and possible scenarios of an armed conflict were also presented. Prof. Roman Bäcker gave an interesting lecture on geopolitical games, in which on the basis of the classic “Thucidides trap” he discussed the contemporary struggle of the powers for domination and hegemony.
The seminar was organised by DTC PAF Experimentation Branch. DTC PAF Deputy Director Col. Andrzej Lis PhD moderated the discussion and presented the summary.
